Lodge Cycles is an Accredited Go MTB Centre
Go Mountain Bike is a mountain bike proficiency course. The course covers 4 themes - riding skills, first aid, being independent and self supporting and sharing the outdoors. There are 5 levels of proficiency across these 4 themes.
There are a growing number of Go MTB accredited Centres throughout the country, where you can participate in the GO MTB programme. Candidates can mix and match the themes and levels according to their interest. The principle aim of the scheme is to support individuals to develop the skills to make independent journeys into the outdoors.
This new award scheme for mountain biking has been developed in partnership with key stakeholders including the CTC, SMBLA, and Scottish Cycling, and was drafted by a panel of experts in the mountain biking sector. Cycling Scotland Education & Training Manager and founder member of the SMBLA, Jim Riach, SMBLA Committee Member and Cycling Scotland Tutor Brian Salvona and current Scottish Mountain Bike Coach and Director of Dirt School, Chris Ball developed the resource to provide a comprehensive introduction to off-road riding.
